Joan Virginia Sanderson Epling Marlowe
Joan Virginia Sanderson Epling Marlowe, 79, of Browntown, VA passed away Friday, April 16, 2010 at Lynchburg Health and Rehab, Lynchburg, VA surrounded by her family.
Joan was the widow of Glenn W. Marlowe of Browntown, Va.; Rev. Dr. Carlysle C. Crank married Joan and Glenn on November 6, 1976.
Joan was born March 23, 1931 in Ballston, VA, daughter of the late Richard Halvey and Virginia Mikesell Sanderson. Joan spent her life as a wife and homemaker. She lived her life with a deep love and respect for family and nature.
Joan is survived by her children: Paul Epling of Sarasota, FL, Donna Hawes and husband, Michael of Fairfax, VA, Sandra Barker of Lynchburg, VA., John Epling of Harpers Ferry, WV and Barbara Buckley and husband Jerry of Navarre, Fl. She was preceded in death by son Frank Epling. Joan also leaves to cherish her memory many wonderful grandchildren, great-grandchildren and adopted grandchildren from her community.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Prospect Hill Cemetery conducted by Rev. Dr. Carlysle C. Crank. The family invites everyone to join them for a time of friendship at Browntown Baptist Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
