Joann Howe

JoAnn Howe went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 7, 2010.  She was the loving wife of 49 years to husband, Franklin "Skip" Howe.  She was born February 7, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Dr. Steven Howe and wife, Victoria, of Lake Charles, La; three daughters; Melissa Salter and husband,Tom, of Spring Grove, Pa, Jessica Beznosenko and husband, Nick, of Md, and Amy Thornburg and husband, David, of Lynchburg, Va; one sister, Barbara Rosasco; and two brothers, William Perrenod and Joseph Perrenod.  She has eleven grandchildren.

JoAnn, a member Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church, lived her life as a fervent woman of prayer. She counted it joy to share her faith with all those whom God would place in her path, even in the last months of her life as she battled cancer.  She loved spending time with her family, telling stories to her grandchildren, and making all feel welcome in her home.  Sailing, painting, and traveling were among her many interests. JoAnn was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

A celebration of JoAnn's life and faith will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church with the Reverend John Mabray officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.  There will be a private family burial. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the International Fellowship of Chrisitans and Jews, www.ifcj.org.
