Joann Owens Neumann
JoAnn Owens Neumann, 63, of Lynchburg, died Sunday, April 28, 2013. She was the wife of Frank William Neumann Jr., for 43 years.
Born Wednesday, October 12, 1949 in New York, NY, JoAnn was a daughter of the late Reuben Owens and the late Katherine Jones Owens.
In addition to her husband, JoAnn is survived by her two daughters: Kelly Neumann, of Lynchburg, and Kimberly Neumann Viar and her husband, Jerry, of Lynchburg; three granddaughters: Mary Broyhill, of Durham, NC, and Kristina and Jessica Viar, of Lynchburg; a son-in-law, Doug Broyhill, of Durham, NC, an aunt, Gladys Honig, of Lynchburg, and special friends: Pam, Shelby, Carolyn, and Beth.
In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine Neumann Broyhill and a brother, Donald Owens.
JoAnn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She always enjoyed having her family together for activities. She loved to play bingo. JoAnn worked for C&P Telephone Company and Lynchburg City Schools. She was a member of College Hill Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg. A celebration of JoAnn's life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 01, 2013 in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, with Rev. Andrew P. Grose officiating.
