John Bates Williams, 64, of Monroe passed away Monday, March 13, 2017. Born in Lynchburg on November 24, 1952, he was a son of the late John Ellis (Jake) Williams and Margaret Bates (Libby) Williams.
John is survived by his daughter: Erin F. Taylor and her husband, Michael; brother: David E. Williams and wife, Vicki; nephew: Joshua Williams and his wife, Nicole.
A graveside service will be held Monday, March 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Fort Hill Memorial Park with military honors by the American Legion Post #16.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford is assisting the family.
