John Edward "Ed" Cardwell

John Edward “Ed” Cardwell 77, of Lynchburg, VA, departed this life February 10, 2025, at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Ed was born on November 29, 1947, in Campbell County, VA to John Cardwell and Elizabeth Cheatham Cardwell.

Ed is preceded in death by his sister; Bertha Burks Taylor, his beloved longtime companion; Susie Lee Atkins, and devoted friend; Albert Atkins.

Ed is survived by two nephews; Reginald Taylor (Angela), and Milford Taylor, devoted cousin; Theodore “Duck” Crider of Rustburg, VA. He is also survived by devoted friends; Janice Atkins Benejan of Lynchburg, VA, Hilson L. Atkins, Sr. and Nilson V. Atkins of Myrtle Beach, SC, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynchburg.
