John Clark Black, 83, of Lynchburg passed away Monday, September 24, 2018.
Born January 19, 1935 in Toledo Ohio, John was a son of the late Harry Black and Ruby Baldwin Black.
John retired from Central Virginia Community College where he was a professor, teaching classes in everything from photography and painting to ceramics. He considered himself a painter and was very dedicated to his discipline.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his siblings Donald (Don) Black, Ronald (Ron) Black, Helen Black Tappen, Barbara Black Jansen, and William (Bill) Black.
John is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Linda Paris Black; daughter, Paris Hosfield and her husband George; two granddaughters, Ava and Lydia Hosfield; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 28, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be sent to the Amherst, Bedford or Campbell County Humane Society, or a Humane Society of your choice.
