John V. Cuesta

John V. Cuesta, 83, of Bedford, Virginia, formerly of West Chester, Pennsylvania and Herndon, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. He was the son of the late Joseph and Virginia Cuesta.

He was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania on August 13, 1941. He grew up in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania and attended school at Upper Darby High School and Pennsylvania State University. John spent his career as a successful salesman and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed visiting with his family and friends including those from West Chester, Pennsylvania and Fox Mill Estates in Herndon, Virginia.

John is survived by his loving wife, Elaine (nee Hekeler) Cuesta who he married on June 25, 1966; sons, Marc Cuesta of Lake Harmony, PA, Gregg Cuesta and his wife Ashley of Wilmington, NC; daughter, Jen Putney and her husband John of Bedford, VA; grandchildren, Julia Cuesta, Joseph Cuesta, Macon Putney, Kemper Putney, and Isaac Cuesta; brother, Thomas Cuesta, and nephews, Charles Cuesta, Jeff Cuesta, and Peter Cuesta and many loving friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings; Joseph and his wife Helen Cuesta, James and his wife Nejette Cuesta, Virginia and her husband Charles Tagart, Jean Cuesta; nephews, Christopher Cuesta and Timothy Cuesta. 

Memorial contributions can be made to the Bedford Hospice House.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life service at a later date in the spring in Bedford, Virginia.
