John Henry Smith, Jr. 87, of Moneta, passed away at home surrounded by family after a long illness on June 17, 2018.
John was born May 3, 1931, a son of the late John Henry Smith, Sr. and Elsie Rohwider Smith. John devoted his time to his time to his family and his career as a millwright. John proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
John is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marianna Elsie Smith; their children, Kenneth John Smith (Christine), James Brian Smith (Crystal), Michael Henry Smith, and Theodore Robert Smith; grandchildren, Benjamin Joshua Smith (Sophia), Leon John Smith, Samantha Lyn Smith, and Jordyn Marie Smith.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Crosby and Jean Hendricks.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
