John Howard Denny, Jr.

 

John Howard Denny, Jr. 82, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012. Born September 29, 1929 in Lynchburg; he was the son of the late John Howard Denny and Gladys Counts Denny.

 

A member of Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church; John was a man of many interests including music, photography, and local history.

 

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita D. Stanley and Lois D. Mosier.

 

John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sylvia Elder Denny; two sons, John L. Denny and his longtime companion, Sharon Hogan of Washington, DC, and David L. Denny and his longtime companion, Laurie Scott of Potomac Falls, VA; and a sister, Thelma Burdette of Lynchburg.

 

A Memorial Service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 11AM at Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at John and Sylvia\"™s home on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, from 2 to 4PM. Graveside inurnment service will be at Spring Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at 9:30AM.
