John “Johnny” Edward Hubbard, 56, of Lynchburg died Friday, May 3, 2019.
Johnny was born October 24, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois a son of the late Albert Edward Hubbard, Jr. and Gloria Hubbard Powell of Lynchburg, and the late Kenneth Russell Powell. Johnny was a loving son, brother, and father. He loved the outdoors, especially walking the various trails in Lynchburg.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, John Edward Hubbard, Jr. of Lynchburg, a brother Michael James Hubbard (Tonia) of Charlotte, NC, a sister Karen Powell Gibson, and his brother-in-law Danny Ray Gibson, Jr. both of Lynchburg, four nieces, Nikki Hubbard, Jessica Ann Dillow, Brittany Dennis, and Arika Wade, four nephews, Cameron and Landon Gibson, Derrick and Kevin Powell, and all the numerous cousins who loved him and lifetime friends (who were like brothers) the McFaden brothers, and his “fur babies”, Bandit, Precious, and Daisy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
A Celebration of Johnny’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with the Rev. David Heerspink officiating. Interment will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery.
