John Michael (Mike) Hedrick, 66, of Lynchburg passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born on May 27, 1955, in Lynchburg, VA, Mike was a son of Janis M. Hedrick and the late John William Hedrick.
He proudly served in the US Marine Corp. He was an avid bowler, car enthusiast and loved playing a game of “cornhole”.
He leaves behind a loving wife of 43 years, Sharon R. Hedrick, two sons Robert Michael Hedrick and Christopher Scott Hedrick (Brittany). In addition, he is survived by two brothers and one sister Wendell (Moose) Hedrick (Angie), Brenda Meeks (Phillip) and Tim Hedrick. He was also a loving Papa to his grandchildren Weston, Mason, Addie, Jax, Avery (Ramsey), Brantley and Griffin Hedrick.
He is survived by numerous nieces/nephews and preceded in death by his nephew Jason G. Meeks.
He was an employee of WestRock for 40 years.
A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 3, 2021, at Tharp Funeral Home, Breezewood Drive with pastor Chris Kesler officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Tharp Funeral Home, Breezewood Drive.
