John Michael Schmidt, 51, passed away unexpectedly December 06, 2018 at his home in Roanoke, VA.
John was born March 13, 1967 in the neighborhood of Evergreen Park in Chicago, Illinois to Jack and Sandra Schmidt.
John loved his family and close friends dearly. He always loved to be the jokester and brought joy to many people’s lives. His favorite place to be was on the beach, in Florida. He also enjoyed hiking and the picturesque mountain views that went along with them.
He is survived by his children Heather and Corey Schmidt; girlfriend, Lacy LeGard; parents, Jack and Sandy Schmidt; sister, Diane (Kerwin) Maynor: sister, Monica Gordash; brother, Tom Schmidt and sister, Kelli (Kobi) Chuckran. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held, at a later date, in Florida.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Roanoke, is assisting the family.
