John Mack Napier, Sr., 85, of Lynchburg, departed this life on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Tate Springs Health and Rehab center, Lynchburg, VA. He was born on February 24, 1939, to the late Robert and Louise Booker Napier.
He belonged to and fully trusted his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of First Saint Paul Baptist Church in Rustburg, VA.
In addition to his parents, he was also proceeded in death by his son, John Napier, Jr.; daughter, Shelby Napier; brothers, Richard Napier, Sr. and Warren Napier; sister, Fanny Humbles; and brothers-in-law, Ernest Humble, Sr. and Wayne Franklin.
He was retired and he enjoyed spending time at home, reading his Bible, looking out the window, as well as go to PACE.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Victoria Newman, Sharlene Napier (Michael), Cheryl Napier, who was his very devoted caregiver, and Otis Napier; daughter-in-law, Michele Napier; sister Julia Franklin; sister-in-law, Dorothy Napier; grandchildren who he adored, Vanessa Daniel (Rodney), Danita Smith (Michael), Brandon Napier, and Tramayne Bordequx (Leah), Sammy Bordequx, Tiara Smith, Michael Napier, Trevon Napier, Tony Barley, Robert Barley, Maine Barley, Jerome Barley, and Concetta Barley; 11 great-grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

John’s favorite scripture was Isaiah 6:8.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
