John Paul Barnard, 53, of Altavista, died Tuesday, January 03, 2017. He was the husband of Lori Davis Barnard for 29 years.
Born Tuesday, September 17, 1963 in Lynchburg, John was a son of the late John Baptist Barnard and the late Lillie Witt Barnard.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Barnard.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his daughter, Amanda Faye Barnard, his brother, James Allen Barnard and his wife, Nancy, and his father-in-law, Rev. Dr. Bob Davis and his wife, Harriet.
John loved his family. He was well organized and the Godly leader of his family. He was an Amateur Radio Operator (N4NB) for many years. Recently he started guitar lessons with his daughter. He enjoyed cooking and working with wood.
The family will receive friends at 5:30 on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Hyland Heights Baptist Church. A celebration of John’s life will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Carl Weiser and Rev. Dr. Bob Davis officiating.
