John Robert Decarmo

John Robert DeCarmo, 80, of Lynchburg went to be with his Lord on Sunday, November 21, 2021. He was the husband of Deanna DeCarmo for 53 years.
John was born in Yonkers, New York on September 20, 1941, but was raised on the North Shore of Oahu, HI. He is the son of the late John Antonio DeCarmo and Lucille Amarino DeCarmo. He had an apostolic calling, a passion for the Word of God, and his life’s mission was to bring people to the Lord. In his 45 years of ministry, he planted 25 plus churches and pastored in New Milford, CT, Kitty Hawk, NC and Stumpy Point, NC. John most recently served as a teacher, Biblical counselor, and musician at Tree of Life Ministries, where he enjoyed playing the saxophone on the worship team.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Michael R. DeCarmo of Hackberry, AZ, David J. DeCarmo of Chesapeake, VA, Elaine C. DeCarmo of Honolulu, HI, and Jonathan D. DeCarmo of Lynchburg, nine grandchildren: Andrea, Mary, Amanda, Cristie, Victoria, Owen, Kamryn, Noah, and Dylan, and 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four siblings: Lucille Flickinger, Victoria Matthews, Lawrence DeCarmo, and Joseph DeCarmo.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Tree of Life Ministries, Lynchburg.
A Celebration of Life for John will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Tree of Life Ministries in Lynchburg with Pastor Mike Dodson officiating. Interment will follow at Tree of Life Cemetery in Altavista.
