John V. Philbrook
John Victor Philbrook, 73, of Lynchburg, died on Friday, February 15, 2013. He was the husband of the late Virginia \"June\" Law Philbrook. John was born in Vinalhaven, ME on July 28, 1939 a son of the late William Philbrook and the late Ethel Nelson Philbrook.
John is survived by one daughter, Junemarie Wilkins of NC and her children, Robert, Tiffany, Briana, and Jocelyn; one son, John Philbrook of CA and his children, Kara and Nicole; one grand-granddaughter, Avery Philbrook of NC, two brothers, William Philbrook of NJ and Carl Philbrook of ME; one sister, Beulah Jean Philbrook of WV and many nieces and nephews.
John was a retired Lieutenant with the Spring Lake, NJ police department. During his tenure with the police department, he was the recipient of the Medal of Valor.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, with Pastor John V. Philbrook, Jr. officiating.
