John Woody Wigglesworth, Jr.

John W. “Woody” Wigglesworth, Jr., 76, of Amherst, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Fairmont Crossing Rehabilitation Center. He was born on September 19, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA. Woody was the son of the late John Woodruff Wigglesworth, Sr. and Constance Kephardt Wigglesworth.

Woody was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Goode. He was also a member of the Bedford Elks Lodge #2844. Woody was a true and kind hearted gentleman. He loved people and animals. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Woody is survived by his loving wife, Julia Cyrus Wigglesworth; two sons, John Edward “Chip” Wigglesworth of Cape Coral, FL and Whitney Allen Wigglesworth of Evington, VA; daughter, Vanessa Cyrus Davis and husband, Matthew of Stephens City; one sister, Judy W. Corbin of Venice Florida; 10 grandchildren; special caregivers, Donald and Bettie Austin of Amherst. Also many other family and friends.

A memorial service and celebration of Woody’s life will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. H.O. Tom Thomas officiating.
