God called home Johnny Gilbert “Geeze” Henry to rest on Sunday January 10, 2021 at Oakwood Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford, VA.
He was born on July 11, 1949 in Bedford County to the late Bertha Henry. Johnny attended Western Light Baptist Church at an early age. He was educated in Bedford County Public School System where he attended Susie Gibson High School. Johnny was known throughout the community for his generous personality and his willingness to help others. He never met a stranger. He was also a loving, father, brother, and friend.
Johnny left to cherish his memory April Robey (Shaun) and Porsha Wright both of Bedford, VA. One son Freddy Henry of Fayetteville, NC. Two granddaughters, Kiara Robey and Na’Ryyah Jones who called him Pa Pa. One brother, Allen Henry (Viola) and one sister, Shebra Jones both of Bedford, VA. Johnny had two nieces and two nephews who he loved like his own, Lavenia, Pamela (Theo), Antoine (Tessia) and Anthony (April). A devoted friend and ex-wife Sharon Henry. He also had a host of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends.
A celebration of Johnny’s life will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Tharp Funeral Chapel with Rev. Henry Henderson officiating. Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford is assisting the family.
