Johnnye Rachel Phillips, 38, of Thaxton formerly of San Diego, CA passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019 at her residence. She was born in Milan, TN, on November 2, 1980. She is the daughter of Deborah and Keith Wise.

Johnnye was free spirited. She loved the land and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She served her country in the United States Navy. She served on the USS Nimitz while in the US Navy. She was very loving and outgoing woman who never met a stranger. She also worked for the Peaks of Otter Winery and Orchard. She was a Brewster and medicinal medicine Dr. She was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew her.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her son, Zakarey Ouellette; half siblings, Kimberly Garcia and Richard Bradley Phillips; step siblings, Matthew Wise and wife, Brittney and Emma Hale; special cousin like a brother, Joshua Matthew Ward; uncle, Paul Ward and wife, Sandy; very close friends, April and Samantha; and her loving dog, Dixie; also surviving are her partner, Levi numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and all of her rainbow family of friends.

A memorial service and celebration of Johnnye’s life will be conducted 4:00pm on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Peaks of Otter Winery Orchard, 1218 Elmos Rd, Bedford, VA 24523. Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford is assisting the family.
