Joseph Barbara, 64, of Lynchburg, died on Saturday, September 12, 2015. He was the husband of Ann Corinne Barbara. Born in New York on February 24, 1951, he was a son of the late Angelo Barbara and the late Annette Cacopardo Barbara.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Amanda Anthony and husband, Mark, Marisa Jo Barbara and Angela Corinne Barbara and fiancé, George Criskos; a grandson, James Criskos; a sister, Jane Braganza and brother-in-law, Joseph; a sister-in-law, Peggy Barbara; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Joseph was also preceded in death by his son, Joseph Andrew Barbara and a brother, Michael “Chipper” Barbara.
Joseph was co-owner of Garden Deli and Catering and Vice-President of Juniors Garage. Joseph enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family and playing pranks on family and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, with the Reverend Janet Hawkins officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
