Joseph David Weaver

May 18, 1961 — March 20, 2018

Joseph David Weaver of Canton, Georgia, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 20, 2018.  Born May 18, 1961 in Lynchburg, VA, he was the son of the late Junius Vaden “Buck” Weaver and the late Frances Elizabeth McKnight Weaver.  He is survived by his wife, Karen Reiter Weaver and daughter, Christa Lauren Stables and her husband, John, of Sanford, NC, and by his sisters, Martha Weaver Campbell (David) of Lynchburg, VA, and Mary Weaver Adams (Rick), of Richmond, VA.

David courageously fought and won a battle with cancer 39 years ago, which allowed him to have a blessed and successful life.  He ultimately had to face cancer again, but this time God stepped in and won the war by bringing him home.  David was a member of Sutallee Baptist Church in White, GA.  He was an avid sports fan and loved the outdoors.  He is forever with the Lord and in our hearts.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 23, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, with Rev. Billy J. Edmondson officiating.  Graveside services will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.  Family will also receive friends at other times at the home of Martha and David Campbell, Lynchburg, and also following the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and Georgia Mountain Hospice, 70 Caring Way, Jasper, GA, 30143.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
