Joseph H. Moore, Jr., 90, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2017.
He served his country proudly during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War with the United States Marine Corps. His military career totaled 27 years. After retirement, he was best known as an employee for Colonial Hills Golf Club, which suited him well because he was an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Joyce Ann Moore; four children, Pam Miller, Rick Moore, Carol Riggins (Morris), and Susan Ford; two grandchildren, Miles Miller and Kelly Miller; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to American Legion Post 16, 1301 Greenview Drive, Lynchburg, Va. 24502 or the charity of your choice.
