Joseph Page Johnson

Joseph Page Johnson, 94, of Bedford, died on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home. Born on October 21, 1916 in Bedford County, VA. A son of the late Elisha James Johnson and Virginia Elizabeth Powers. In addition to his parents Joseph was preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis Johnson, Floyd Johnson and Roy Johnson, a sister, Drucilla Price.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Grace Miller Karnes Johnson, one sister, Florence Smith- Burkholder; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Brugh, Irene Holdren, Hazel Gray, Winnie Ashwell, Anne Duncan, W. Ray Karnes and his wife, Mae, Elwood Karnes and Onyx Ferguson; also numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Joseph\"™s life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Chapel, with the Rev Bill Turley officiating. The burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Bedford.
