Joseph Rene Verville

Joseph Rene Verville, aged 81, of Bedford, Virginia, graduated to heaven on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Born on April 27, 1942, in Massena, NY, he is the son of the late Paul Eugene Verville and Berthe Irene Bissonnette Verville. In addition to his parents, Joseph joined his brother, Rene Verville; sister, Michelene Marion; and grandson, Jacob Lowe in eternity.

Joseph served in the U.S. Army from July 1959 to June 1965, a time he often reflected on with pride. His post-military career at ALCOA was just the beginning of his journey, as he later found his calling in real estate, embracing the challenges of entrepreneurship. Beyond work, he loved the simplicity of fishing, the thrill of the stock market, and the satisfaction of home improvement projects. His practical, hands-on approach to life was admired by all who knew him. Above all, he was a family man at heart, his greatest joy and achievement.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie Sheets Verville; his son, Joseph R. Verville and his wife Monica, and their children Genevieve, Joey, Sophia, and León; his daughter, Susie Marie Verville and her children Brittany, Harley, Clayton, and Levi; his daughter, Cheri Jo Lowe and her husband David, and their child Delmarr; his daughter, Ranee Ann Verville and her children Tyler, Joseph, Devon, Bryce, Kyra; four great-grandchildren; and his brother, Donald Verville.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 22, 2023, at Tharp Funeral Chapel in Bedford, with Rev. Michael Khol officiating. Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford, is assisting the family.
