Joseph “Wayne” Wilkes, 74, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his home on September 20, 2020.
Wayne was born on February 7, 1946 in Roanoke, Virginia. He was the son of the late Joseph B. Wilkes and Dorothy M. Wilkes.
Surviving is a daughter, Tammy W. Smith and her husband, Timmy; two grandchildren, T.J. Smith and Heather Saunders (Chris); two great grandchildren, C.J. and Paisli Saunders who held a very special place in his heart.
Surviving is a younger sister and best friend Sandy Holt, a brother in law who is more like a brother and best friend, John Holt. He is also survived by his nephew Brian Holt (Kelly) and niece Missy Anders (Scott), several nephews, great nieces, and some special cousins.
In addition, he is survived by a special friend of 60 years, Lynnwood Craft.
At Wayne’s request no service will be held.
