Joseph William Gilliam

Joseph William “Billy” Gilliam, Sr., died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Marcia Darnell Guthrie Gilliam for 43 years.
Born July 19, 1945 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Roy and Ruby Gilliam. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Lawhorne. Billy was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from Sam Moore Furniture Co.
In addition to his wife, Billy is also survived by two sons:Joseph William Gilliam, Jr., and Christopher Lee Gilliam; a granddaughter: Krystil Marie Gilliam; one brother: Dennis Edward Gilliam and two sisters: Shirley and Brenda Gilliam.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
