Josephine Cornelia Matthews, 94, formerly of Orange, VA, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015, in Lynchburg, VA.
Born Thursday, June 02, 1921 and raised in Orange, VA, Jo was a daughter of the late Joseph Herbert and Katherine Smith Matthews, Jr.
In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her siblings, Rachael M. Coleman, Katherine M. Alvis, and Joseph Herbert Matthews, III.
She will be missed by four nieces, and nephews, nine great-nieces and nephews, three grand nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A celebration of Jo’s life will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in Graham Cemetery, Orange, VA.
