Joy D. Skelley, 57, of Concord died Saturday November 12, 2011.
She was the wife of the late Robert Michael Skelley.
Joy was born December 2, 1953, in Washington D.C. She is preceded in death by her mother, Anna Marie Lewis Layman. She is survived by her father, Furman H. Layman and step mother, Pamela Atkins Layman; her brother, David K. Layman and his wife, Sandy, and their sons, Jeffrey, Scott and Matthew, all of Arizona.
Joy was a U.S. Postal employee, an accomplished photographer, lecturer and author.
A private memorial service for Joy will be held at a later date.
Joy was an animal lover. In lieu of flowers please consider making memorial contributions to the Lynchburg Humane Society, 3305 Naval Reserve Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501 or to your local S.P.C.A.
