Joyce Kay Mueller Johnston, 83, of Lynchburg, died Wednesday, June 19, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arthur Johnston of 57 years and her sister Nancy Meissner.
Born in Cincinnati, OH on May 20, 1936 she was a daughter of the late Howard and Eileen Ahern Mueller. She was a retired sales coordinator with Sears Roebuck;
She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Dalton (Jamie) of Rustburg; sons William Johnston (Tanya) of Rustburg, Thomas Johnston (Debby) of Beach City, TX, and Michael Johnston of Huddleston; sister Sue Mueller of Cincinnati, OH, eight grandchildren and five great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be held at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. A Mass of Celebration will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. with Msg. Michael D. McCarron as celebrant. A private interment will be held at Culpepper National Cemetery.
