Joyce Lee Langford Snead

Joyce Lee Langford Snead, 88, of Forest, VA, died Thursday, February 10, 2022.  She was the wife of the late Robert Walsa Snead for 32 years.

Joyce was born November 11, 1933, in Lynchburg, VA, a daughter of the late Onan Lee Langford and Martha Jane Dudley Langford Fore. She was retired from Verizon where she was an account executive for many years.  She was a member of Timberlake Christian Church, the American Business Association and was former President of the Auxiliary at Lynchburg General Hospital.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, David M. Hodges, Sr. and his wife, Valerie of Brandon, FL, Kim H. Brooks and her husband, Danny of Rustburg, Lisa H. Moser and her husband, Kevin of Lynchburg; grandchildren, Erin Pillow (Jeremy), Jason Payne (Samantha), Josh Brooks (Rachel), Libby Brooks, Sean Brooks, Maegan Hodges, David Hodges, Jr., Lucas Moser (Jessica), Lauren Guthrie (Nathan), and Jacob Moser (Jessie); and her great-grandchildren, Addison, Josiah, Lacey, Daniel, Ford, and Briley.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle “Micki” Murray and a very special stepfather, Henry M. Fore.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory.  A celebration of Joyce’s life will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
