Joyce Marie Millner Dolan, 83, of Lynchburg, VA, died Sunday, February 09, 2014. She was the wife of the late William Thomas Dolan, for 45 years.
Born Sunday, July 13, 1930 in Lynchburg, Joyce was a daughter of the late Joseph Samuel Millner and the late Maynie Eglantine Millner.
Joyce is survived by her sons: Wayne Dolan, of Richmond, VA, Joe Dolan and his wife, Cindy, of Lynchburg, and Barry Dolan and his wife, Nancy, of Lynchburg; grandchildren: Nathan Dolan, of Richmond, Emily Tucker and her husband, Sylvester, of Richmond, Katie Wood and her husband, Michael, of Richmond, Erika Wood, of Forest, Elizabeth Copes and her husband, William, of Lynch Station, Erin Dolan, of Waynesboro, Scott Logwood, of Lynchburg, and Sara McGuire and her husband, Bobby, of Lynchburg; great grandchildren: Anna, Leah, Josh, Daphne, Samuel, Sadie, Joey, Dulaney, and Mackenzie; sisters: Shirley Webber and her husband, Morris, of Lynchburg, Gaile Millner, of Forest, and Debra Millner, of Lynchburg.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 PM (noon) on Friday, February 14, 2014, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A celebration of Joyce's life will follow at 12:00 PM (noon) on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Bart W. Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.
Joyce was a sweet, loving, caring and giving person. She was family oriented and loved spending time with the grandkids. She loved singing, especially in her church choir and with the Sweet Adeline\"™s. She had a large collection of Beanie Babies and enjoyed collecting figurines.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Virginia Wounded Warrior Program, 620 Court Street, Lynchburg, VA, 24504; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
The family would like to thank personal care givers: Mrs. Ollie Reid, Alyssa Ware, Angel Thomas, and Team Nurse for the loving care given to Joyce.
