Joyce Mcclure Kirby
Joyce McClure Kirby, 74, of Lynchburg, died on Monday, April 18, 2011. She was born in Lynchburg on December 3, 1936, the daughter of the late James D. McClure and the late Annie Glenn McClure.
Joyce is survived by her son, Doug Kirby, Jr. and wife, Tammy of Evington. She was a member of Euclid Christian Church and the retired office manager for Atco Products.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg and other times at the residence of her son, Doug, 528 Sunburst Hills Road, Evington. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her \"adopted grandchildren\", Hannah and Tyler Williams. She was a devoted NASCAR fan, always cheering on Dale Earnhardt, Sr.
The family would like to especially thank Debbie and Michael, and the entire third floor staff, at the Medical Care Center for their love, care, and support for Joyce during the last six weeks.
