Joyce S. Caplinger

Joyce Sylvia Caplinger, 92, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 26, 2017. She was the wife of the late Allen Blaine Caplinger for 57 years.
Born on May 9, 1925, in Kettering, England, she was the daughter of the late Horace James Brampton and Ethel Smart Brampton Johnson. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Harold Brampton and Eric Brampton, and a great grand-daughter, Caleigh Anne Caplinger.
She was a retired Avon District Manager of 45 years. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church. She leaves two sons, Harold Blaine “Tim” Caplinger and wife Rita of Papillion, NE., and Eric Allen Caplinger and wife Linda of Forest, VA.; five grandchildren, David Caplinger and wife Jennie of Bellevue, NE., Erica Caplinger of Papillion, NE., Nathanael Caplinger and wife Teresa, of Madison Heights, VA., Jennifer Claybrook and husband Frank of Appomattox, VA., and Jessica Holder and husband Justin of Spout Spring, VA.; eleven great grand-children, Julia, Ethan, Alena, Jordan and husband Tyler, Danielle Joyce “Dani Jo”, Emma, Mattie, Claire, Judah, Jaxyn and Baby “J”; and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Tim Dennis, and Kathy Gabrielsen, as well as Paul Dennis, Daryle Dennis and Laura Mitchell. Special thanks also to the staff of Heritage Green for her excellent care for the past 5 months.

A celebration of life will be held for Joyce on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Victory Christian Fellowship Church at 11 a.m., with Pastor Ken Parrish officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
