Joyce Webb Bergman

Joyce Webb Bergman, 84, of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012. She was the wife of the late William Fletcher Bergman, III for 55 years.

Mrs. Bergman was born July 21 1928, in Norfolk, VA, a daughter of the late Percy Lloyd Webb and the late Una Williamson. She retired from Lynchburg City Schools where she enjoyed educating children. She was a member of Lynchburg Womans Club and Peakland United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Sara Lloyd Bryant of Lynchburg, Mary Fletcher Miles and husband, Bryan, of Amherst County, Susan Rebecca Mostoff and husband, Peter, of Chatham, Lydia Bergman Joyce of Columbia, MD, and Charles Frederick Bergman and wife, Mariann, of Roanoke; and his grandchildren, Fletcher and Cullen Bryant, Carolyn and Tommy Alcock, Allison, Haley, and Pete Mostoff, and Darby and Patrick Joyce, great-grandchildren, Kyria and Jordyn Alcock, sister, Mary Blanch Worrell of Las Vegas, Nevada.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Lloyd Webb and Charles Ross Webb.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Peakland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Edwin Clever officiating. Friends are invited to a reception immediately following the service at the Church. Private interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Longwood University, Class of 1950 Scholarship Fund or Alzheimer\"™s Association.
