Joyce Wilkes Nichols

Joyce Wilkes Nichols, 81, of Richmond, formerly of Huddleston died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Laurels of University Park Nursing Home.  She was born May 15, 1928 in Northfork, West Virginia a daughter of the late Leotie Davis Wilkes and Mary Elizabeth Carter Wilkes.



In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Bassil W. \"Jerry\" Nichols; one daughter, Betty Lou Nichols; two brothers, John Wilkes and Henry Wilkes; five sisters, Elsie Walker, Rubye Archer, Katherine Blankenship, Gay Cushaw and Betty Wilkes.  She is survived by two daughters, Brenda and Charles Ashwell of Huddleston and Joanne and Guy Whitley of Richmond; two grandchildren, Brandon Ashwell and his wife, Contadina of Appomattox and Amanda Ashwell of Goodview; great grandson, Tristan Ashwell; special daughter, Beulah Fisher of Bedford; one sister, Dorothy Goode and her husband, Austin of Bedford.  The family would like to thank the staff at Laurels of University Park Nursing Home for all their care.
