Juanita Litchford Cyrus, 84, of 325 Westview Circle, Lynchburg went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 23, 2022, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John Ervin Cyrus.
Born December 16, 1937, in Rustburg, she was the daughter of the late William and Sally Litchford. She was a retired Shift Supervisor with Central Virginia Training Center. In addition, she spent her time dedicating herself to special needs young people at The Arc of Central Virginia.
She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia “CC” Cyrus, and Beverly “BB” Davis, J.T’s father and special friend, Warren Davis, a loving grandson, J.T Davis and his wife, Carolyn; and a great grandson, John Xavier Davis.
She is survived by two sisters, Fay Andrist and Mae Haskins and one brother, Buddy Litchford along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Litchford.
In addition, her family included a special and devoted friend, Carolyn Lewis and special friend, Omi Hall.
Her extended family included two adopted daughters, Barbara Josephs of Lynchburg, Christina Childress of Pamplin, and four adopted grandchildren, Bela Assis of Brazil, Juliana Spohr of Brazil, Anne Kreidel of Germany, and Enerelt Baldansuren of Mongolia.
The family will receive friends Friday night, February 25, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home and at other times in her home.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Tharp Funeral Home by the Reverend Mark Grooms. Burial will follow at New Chapel Baptist Church in Rustburg.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Victor Bell and the staff of Accordius Health of Lynchburg for their care and concern during her need for long term care.
