Juanita M. Johnson

Juanita Mason Johnson, 101 of Bedford, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Bedford County Nursing Home. She was born in Bedford Co. on August 6, 1916. A daughter of the late Patterson Wyckliffe Mason and Martha Bell Dearing Mason. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Johnson; a son Gary L. Johnson; two step-children, Jesse Johnson and Betty Laughon, also three brothers, Johnny, Fred and Bernard and four sisters, one of which was her twin Almeta, Annie, Josephine and Baby Mason.

Juanita was a member of Nicopolis Methodist Church. She was retired from Rubatex. Juanita loved gardening, reading, studying her genealogy and going to church functions.

Juanita is survived by her daughter, Priscilla S. Goff and her husband, Jim; son, Robert Martin Carlyle and his wife, Shirley; stepson, Murrill Lyle Johnson and his wife, Minerva; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

A funeral service and celebration of Juanita’s life will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Nicopolis Methodist Church with Rev Ray T. Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 11:00 am also at the church.
