Judi Nardelli King

Judi Nardelli King of Lynchburg, Va. died peacefully and went to be with her Lord in heaven on Thursday, May 5, 2016. Judi was full of life and a true blessing to all who knew her. She gave generously of herself to her multitude of friends and dearest family. She was born on February 25, 1943 in Iron Mountain, Michigan to the late Louis H. and Quinta (Caruso) Nardelli. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1961 and Northern Michigan University in 1965 with a degree in education. She married her high school sweetheart, Raymond King, in June of 1965. They celebrated fifty wonderful years together last summer. They lived in Pittsburgh for seven years, where she taught in the Wilkinsburg school district and made many lifelong friends. She reluctantly moved to Lynchburg in 1972, but grew to truly love the area. She spent the next twenty years raising a family. She then began selling real estate and was one of the first four members of Remax 1st Olypmic. She was a top producer known for her honesty and integrity and her desire to do the best for both the buyer and the seller. She was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, where she served as a greeter and usher for forty years. She and Ray taught ballroom dancing for Lynchburg Parks and Rec. for fifteen years and she volunteered at Virginia Baptist Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Donald.

She is survived by her husband, Ray; her daughter, Jill King and fiancé, Jason Poulsen of Charlotte, N.C.; son, Gregory King and his wife, Malia, of Lynchburg. She leaves to cherish her memory, three beautiful grandchildren: Luke, Liam and Kathleen King, who affectionately call her Nenee. Her many friends, who fondly recall her unforgettable, outgoing personality and straightforward approach to life, will miss the energy she brought by just entering a room.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Michael D. McCarron officiating.
