Judith Ann Harris, 70, of Lynchburg, VA passed away August 12, 2012 after a long battle with cancer at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born in Lynchburg, VA on October 8, 1941 she was the daughter of the late Hattie M. Hoefle and Frank Ayers. She is survived by her husband: Irvin C. Harris (Pete), one daughter: Jackie D. Atkins and husband, Scott; four grandchildren: Kayla E. Whitley and husband Kenny, Kristen Atkins, Gina Atkins and Taylor Atkins; loving sister: Lisa K. Taylor and husband Doug and her three children; step sister: Alma Booker and husband David and their two children.
Judy worked at G.E. for 10 years and retired from RST Marketing where she worked for 26 years. She was very active as a Girl Scout leader and helper with a Lynchburg troop.
A special thank you to her sweet niece and nurse, Emily Taylor and sister-in-law: Alice Butt and husband Bill. She would also like to thank the people at RST Marketing for all they have done for her.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday August 15, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg, and all other times at her daughter\"™s residence at: 3100 Bear Creek Road, Rustburg.
A Celebration of Judy\"™s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday August 16, 2012 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with the Rev. David Heerspink officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy\"™s name to the American Cancer Society or Rustburg High School Band Boosters.
