Judy Ann Smith Trent

Judy Ann Smith Trent, of Lynchburg, died Saturday February 13, 2016, at Lynchburg General Hospital due to respiratory failure. She is preceded in death by her father Thomas E. Smith Jr.; her grandparents, Frank and Mattie Burford, and Thomas and Ella Smith.
Born in Lynchburg on August 31, 1956, she is the daughter of Nancy Smith Martin and step daughter of Thomas Martin. Judy is survived by her brother Thomas E. Smith III; her children, John Trent, Aleacea Nicole Hamlett, (Anthony-son #2); two very special grandchildren, Mariah Trent and Nicholas Dendtler. She is also survived by her companion of 17 years (DeDe) Dorthy Stemen; two special pets, Lily and Toby whom she loved; two special Aunts, Linda Burford and Marie Smith; two nephews, many cousins and friends.
She is of the Baptist faith in which she never lost faith.
The family wants to thank the nurses and doctors in the Medical ICU for taking excellent care of her and for the concern for the family and all the others that were taking care of her while there.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 P.M Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. There will be no other services.
