Julia Carter Phillips, 75, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
She was born in Bedford County on June 16, 1939, a daughter of the late Henry and Ellen Carter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G. Phillips, and her son-in-laws: Richard Waldron and Bobby Brunk.
Julia is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws: Mary Waldron, Dot and Larry Goff, Regina and Bill Lietz, Gail and Fred Carter, Janie and Ronnie Wilson, and Julia Brunk, all of Bedford; three grandchildren: Delores and Jason Evans of Kodiak, AK, Ashley Deacon, and Richard Elkins, both of Bedford; and two great-grandchildren: Christopher and Thomas Evans of Kodiak, AK.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. the following day, Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford with the Rev. Danny Holdren officiating. Interment will follow at the Phillips Family Cemetery.
