Julia Swain

Julia Marie Hudson Swain, 94, of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025. Born January 25, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Artie Thomas Hudson and Rosie Bixby Hudson of Altavista. Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Claude Edward Swain, Sr. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Swain Anderson of Buckingham and Phyllis Swain of Lynchburg; a devoted daughter-in-law, Kay Swain; four grandchildren, Albert Collins, Jr., Tammy Swain, Teresa Swain Jose (Ronnie), and Harold Kramer Anderson IV (Laura); two great-grandchildren, Deven Jose and Tori Jose; three sisters, Louise Nickols, Ruth Pierce, and Barbara Collins, and one brother, Glen Hudson. Julia was also preceded in death by three children, Jackie Marie Swain, Sarah Swain Collins and Claude Edward Swain, Jr. (Eddie).

A public visitation will be held at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg location on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 1:00-3:00P.M.
