June R. Davidson
June R. Davidson, 85, of Lynchburg, VA went home to be with the Lord, February 10, 2012, at Virginia Baptist Hospital.
She was the daughter of Melvin Y. Royer and Ollie Childress Royer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley T. Davidson, a daughter, Jennifer L. Daniel, a son, Kirkland W. (Tody) Davidson, and a brother, Thurman Royer. Her first husband was the late Maurice L. Leach.
June is survived by four daughters, Donna L. Worley (Robert), Glenda L. Ward (Ricky), Jeanette D. Foster, and Juanita D. Porterfield (Tommy), four sons, Glenn F. Leach (Robyn), Wesley M. (Joe) Davidson, Charles T. (Buddy) Davidson (Tammy) and Kevin L. Davidson, Sr., two grandsons whom she raised, Chris A. Garrett and Michael L. Daniel, twenty-two grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Dossie Elliott and Rheta Jones (Leon) and two brothers, Paul Royer (Liz) and William Royer.
June was a member of Mountain View Church of God, and the family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Pastor Lonnie Wickard for ministering to her at home for the last several years.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Breezewood Dr. Per her wishes, a graveside service will be held on Monday for immediate family only.
