Karen Christine Matney

Karen Christine Matney, 46, of Lynchburg, died on Monday, October 29, 2012 at her home. She was the wife of Russell Matney for 16 years.

 

Karen was born, November 3, 1965, a daughter of Frank Bonenberger and Joyce Jannetta Bonenberger of Rockledge, FL.

 

She was a former employee of Centra Health as a nurse in the Emergency Room, and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.

 

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her children; Christopher Cole Matney, Jonathan Tyler Matney, and Elizabeth Claire Matney all of Lynchburg; brothers, Greg Bonenberger (Debbie) of Merritt Island, FL and Mark Bonenberger (Kathy) of Sebring, FL.; mother-in-law, Peggy, C. Matney; a brother-in-law Gregory T. Matney (Amy) of Kingsport, TN.

 

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law; Harold B. Matney.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg from 6:00 \"" 8:00 PM.

 

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM. at Heritage Baptist Church with the Reverend Gerald Kroll officiating. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
