Karl Heinz Hersch, 70, of Lynchburg died June 22, 2012. He was the devoted husband of Marie T. Hersch.
Karl was born December 3, 1941 in Munich, Germany a son of the late Karl Schmekal and Hilda Woppman. Karl immigrated to America and became a successful business owner of Jersey Mail Systems and was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lynchburg.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children: Mary E. Stephens and husband William of Lynchburg; Karl W. Hersch and wife Sherel of Summit, N.J.; and Kristina M. Betz and husband Brian of Clinton, N.J., five grandchildren: Ellie Stephens, Mac Stephens, Kaitlyn Hersch, Alex Hersch, and Kendall Hersch, one brother John Hersch, four sisters: Johanna Hersch, Margaret Maddaluna, Anna Hersch, and Marie Hersch, and his step-mother Erika Schmekal of Austria.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday June 29, 2012 at Reilly Funeral Home in Belmar, NJ.
A Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday June 30, 2012 at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Neptune, NJ.
