Katherine Neumann Broyhill
Katherine \"Kathy\" Neumann Broyhill, 40, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Durham Regional Hospital. The daughter of Franklin William Neumann Jr. and JoAnn Owens Neumann of Lynchburg, Kathy was born on May 18, 1971 in Baltimore, MD.
Kathy was employed with Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC for 12 years. She was a former member of the Bible Baptist Church serving in the Choir, Awanas and the children\"™s Sunday School Class , she was currently attending Liberty Baptist Church. Before moving to Durham she was a member of College Hill Baptist Church and a graduate of Longwood College where she played hand bells and sang in the choirs. Kathy was a graduate of Hertiage High School where she sang in the Show Choir and was a member of the Drama Club.
In addition to her parents Kathy is survived by her devoted husband, Douglas and her loving daughter Mary of Durham, NC; her sisters Kelly Neumann, Kimberly Neumann Viar and husband Jerry; her nieces Kristina and Jessica Viar all of Lynchburg and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Janet Broyhill of Durham, NC.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Bible Baptist Church, Durham, NC .The Rev. Greg Allison and Rev. Jeff McCarthy officiated.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 3 PM at Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA with the Rev. Andrew P. Grose officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Kimberly's home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, National Headquarters, 330 East Sunrise Drive, Tucson, AZ 85718
Kathy was a very special person and will be greatly missed by all.
