Kathleen (Kay) Moran Tolhoek of Forest, Virginia and St. Petersburg, Florida passed away February 26 after a long illness.
Born in Yonkers, New York on December 28, 1939, she was the daughter of Joseph and Catherine Moran. She is survived by her husband, Martin, daughter Jennifer White (Thomas) of St. Petersburg, Florida, son, Jon Tolhoek of San Diego, California, two grandchildren Sarah Katherine and Thomas Hudson White, sister Paula Brenchak (Nick) of Anderson, South Carolina, niece and nephew Natasha and Nicholas Brenchak.
Kay graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Yonkers, NY in 1957 and Wood College in N.Y. in 1960. She was employed as a flight attendant by Eastern Airlines, as well as, for the Kennedy Family during Robert Kennedy\"™s Senate campaign from 1964-1965.
She was a volunteer for Hospice and Libraries in Forest and St. Petersburg and volunteered in many areas of service at Grace Episcopal Church in Lynchburg.
A Eucharistic Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church on New Hampshire Ave., Lynchburg, VA with the Rev. Catharine Montgomery and the Rev. Christine Payden-Travers officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 2316 Atherholt Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501 or the charity of your choice.
