Kathleen “Kitty” Wheeler Dooley

Kathleen \"Kitty\" Gladys Wheeler Dooley, 78, of Bedford died Saturday, March 27, 2010.  She was born February 24, 1932, in Roanoke County, a daughter of the late John Edward Wheeler and Gladys Callahan Wheeler. Kitty loved to play bingo and played whenever she could and she loved seeing her friends at her many yard sales.  She was a retired employee of The Print Shop and a member Epworth United Methodist Church and the Women of the Moose.



In addition to her parents, Kitty was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Odell Dooley. She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Wayne Dooley of Roanoke; J.T. Dooley and his wife Gloria, Robbie Dooley and his wife Meredith all of Bedford; one brother Butch Wheeler and his wife Sandy of Bedford; three sisters Pauline Zimmerman, Nancy Robertson and her husband Garland, Audrey Montano and her husband Lenny all of Bedford; five grandchildren Mike Dooley, Jamie Dooley and his wife Erin, Melissa Taylor and her husband Buck, Graham Dooley and Parry Dooley all of Bedford; four great-grandchildren, Jake Grant, Luca, Landon and Levi Dooley and Jessie Taylor, and numerous nephews and nieces and friends.



The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Oakwood Manor and a special thanks to Sandy Wheeler for being such a kind and wonderful friend.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Danny Holdren officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 on   Monday, March 29, 2010 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford.
