Kathleen Reese Irby, 91 of Lynchburg, died Monday June 24, 2019 she was the devoted wife of Henry Harris Irby Jr., for over 64 years.
Kathleen was born April 26, 1928 in Halifax County a daughter of the late John Robert Reese and the late Cecile Coates Reese. Kathleen was a charter member of Seaford Baptist Church and a current member of Sandusky Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son Gary Irby and his wife Susan of Union Hall, four grandchildren: Sonia, Madalena, Chris, and Lauren, five great-grandchildren: Cassidy, Tyler, Nadia, Joshua, and Caleb; one brother: Bill Reese and his wife Nancy; and two sisters: Anne Reese Moorefield and her husband Genie, Bobbie Hill and her husband Will.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son Malcom Irby.
A Memorial Service for Kathleen will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday July 6, 2019 in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with the Rev. Ed Vogt officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at her residence.
