Kathryn Evans Puckett

Kathryn Evans Puckett, 93, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, May 5, 2011. She was the wife of the late Nowlin Puckett.

Born in Campbell County, November 7, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Herman Evans and Ethel Sowell Evans. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mae Evans Coleman, and her brother, Robert P. Evans.

Kathryn is survived by her son, William W. (Bill) Puckett of Lynchburg, and her daughter, Kathryn Ann Puckett and husband Brian Sheron of Poolesville, MD; four grandsons, Col. Clifford T. Puckett, U.S. Air Force and wife Sarah, Gregory N. Puckett and wife Lisa of Elizabeth, CO, David W. Sheron and wife Stephanie of Damascus, MD, and Daniel A. Sheron of Poolesville; and two great granddaughters, Samantha and Kimberly Puckett.

She is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Evans Garrison of Richmond and Shirley Evans Rudder of Williamsburg, and two brothers, Herman Evans Jr. and James Malcolm Evans, both of Campbell County, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff of The Carrington, especially Trina, Cindy, and Sabrina, for their exceptional care of Kate over the past seven years.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Tharp Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2011, Tharp Funeral Home Chapel, Lynchburg, with the Rev. Douglas Pillow officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
